Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 高階經理人碩士在職專班 === 105 === The Major League Baseball (MLB) 2016 regular season was chosen as the study object. There are 14 different independent variables used to understand their affects to the attendance (sales revenue) of each game via the regression analysis. Hopefully, this study could be a good reference for each MLB team for resource arrangement before each game. It was found out that the below listed variables do have a significant effect on the attendance of 2016 MLB regular season, such as home team’s winning percentage, visiting team’s winning percentage, home team’s rival team, the national favorite visiting teams, home teams’ starting pitcher nationality out of USA, visiting teams’ starting pitcher nationality out of USA, home team’s starting pitcher star, inter-league games, promotion games and weekday games. Future studies could go more detailed into each variable to find out and operate those variables to increase the attendance or sales revenue.
