The desiccant absorbs the water vapor in the air for dehumidification. In this experiment, the desiccant is coated on one fin by using dense coating method, the spherical silica gel coats one side, the sodium polyacrylate coats two sides, so that the fixed fin area is coated with more desiccant for better dehumidification effect. This study discusses the performance of single-unit and two-unit series connected DCHE, and discusses the effect of different relative humidity of inlet air, different desiccants and different regeneration temperatures on the dehumidification performance. The results show that the coefficient of performance of the DCHE prepared by using dense coating method is better than that of general DCHE by 2~2.4 times. The two-unit series connected DCHE has lower ambient humidity ratio than single-unit DCHE at different intake humidity, it can be used in the industry of special low humidity environment process. The overall dehumidifying capacity of two-unit series connected DCHE at regeneration temperatures 50℃ and 70℃ is about twice as high as that of single-unit DCHE. The coefficient of performance COPth of single-unit or two-unit series connected increases with humidity. The coefficient of performance of sodium polyacrylate single-unit and two-unit series connected DCHE is 1~1.3 times of silica gel single-unit and two-unit series connected DCHE at high inlet air humidity. Finally, the effects of different regeneration temperatures on the performance of DCHE are compared. The higher the regeneration temperature is, the higher are the coefficient of performance, dehumidifying capacity and regeneration capacity of single-unit or two-unit series connected DCHE.
