This key event make her jump to the world championships and to be the youngest "Queen of Badminton " in Taiwan History.Objective: To understand the influence between badminton singles player Tai Tzu-Ying’s tactics types and scoring time by using notational analysis and systematic observation. Method: The tactics used, shots placements and scoring time of the match between Tai Tzu-Ying and Carolina Marin in 2016 Hong Kong Super Series women’s singles were observed in notation. The data obtained was described statistically in percentage. Results: (1) The most usage rate of tactics was drive and drop. (2) The shot placement’ success rate of right front square is higher than other areas. (3) Little difference between the average time spent on winning or losing points; The time of winning points is longer than the time of losing points of a lost game. Conclusions: Using notation analysis and systematic observation can quantify the tactics very quickly. It was found that drive and drop with the highest success rate, the short serve earning more active opportunities and shot placement with the highest success rate of right front square of Tai Tzu-Ying’s tactics.
