It is crucial to analyze residential appliance power consumption data in order to identify patterns of power-saving and power-wasting behaviors and to achieve the goals of energy saving and carbon reduction. Providing better understanding of entire residential power usage information to residents is of most importance. With the development of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, a variety of smart power plugs can be used to measure and collect power usage data consumed by each appliance in a household. The world is facing global warming, increased energy demands and limited resources. Therefore, how to increase the efficiency of energy use is of high importance. For a typical household, this research assumes that understanding household power usage patterns is the first step and the only way to achieve energy savings. Previously, power consumption data are often aggregated and displayed on utility bills, which hardly increases the residents’ awareness regarding energy savings. This research use IoT technology to collect smart socket sensor combine Database and JavaScript to create energy consumption dashboard system. It using Apache as a web server and PHP to draw a web user interface. Database part is using PostgreSQL database, it was open source code that can be modified for different features. And combined with data warehousing and MVC architecture to develop, we aimed at providing a commonly used electricity consumption form and a related appearing tool. No need to install or set up the platform, you can use the phone, tablet, computer to view the screen results, corrected the visualization of the bill that was not intuitive.
