The author has invited five junior high school early career school counselors to take part in the research project, and has gathered data via semi-structural in-depth interviews for summarization and analysis. The author has reached conclusions as follows: 1.The work content for junior high school early career school counselors includes: teaching, student individual counselling, small group guidance, psychological assessment and interpretation, parents and in-service teachers’ training for their knowledge and skills about students’ guidance, student client refferal, systmatical recources integration, cooperation and case management, completeting monthly report, keeping counselling services records, and so on. 2.The difficulties encountered by junior high school early career school counselors include: multiple roles, not-so-clear job responsibilities, difficult and comlex case circumatacnes, and high workload due to too many cases, school teachers and staff’s unfamiliarity with the responsibilities of school counselors. 3.The coping strategies of junior high school early career school counselors include: seeking supportive resources through group counseling and in-service training by supervisors.
