碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 電機工程學系 === 105 === A Point-of-Sale System is widely utilized in different business such as retail, logistic, and food business. The system plays a critical role not only for assisting sale management but also for transforming data into valuable information, whereby management layer can review operation performance and adjust business direction to increase the operation efficiency. The object of the study is using the POS system in order, cash, and attendance operations in store side, and transferring data back to Head Office. Home office personal has to generate reports manually. In addition, the POS systems and other systems (Accounting, Purchasing and Human Resource etc.) are operating independently. Data transfer among different systems still relay on manual processes. The aim of this paper is to propose a system and develop a prototype to reduce manual operation limitations by comparing POS systems in the market and using restaurant K as an object. Also, applying XML data format as a transfer interface is provided among different systems and reports generating based on its current POS system, organizations, and requirements.
