| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 中國語文學系 === 105 === There’re many characters in ”the Dream of the Red Chamber”. And there’re many research on main characters, but less reseach on small potatoes. I define “small potatoes” as they have shore discuss, not because of their stafus. There’re three kinds of conditions. First, short discuss. Second, they’re not show up,and only have name in the book. Third, they have no name, but they only have professional title.
There’re some meanings and values of the small potatoes. I want to know the techniques and effects of the small potatoes in the novel. Different from political figurist, the figurist in the study is literatual figurist.
Actually, the small potatoes is everyone’s image. They reflect our experience in our life. I hope this study could arouse readers’ concern for every characters in “the Dream of the Rad Chamber”. Because they could provide you another interpretation.
