Colorectal cancer has the second highest incidence rate of cancer. Colorectal cancer is the most prevalent form of cancer among Taiwanese people, and its age-standardized incidence rate has increased from 10.09 per 100,000 in 1979 to 44.32 per 100,000 in 2013. Colorectal cancer has risen to the third place of cause of death for cancer in both men and women, the five-year survival rate for people with early stage is 90%, but it drops to 10% for terminal stage. Objectives: (1) analyzing the sex-specific incidence rate of colorectal cancer, (2) analyzing the age-specific incidence rate of colorectal cancer, (3) analyzing the age-period-specific incidence rate of colorectal cancer, (4) analyzing the long-term trends of the incidence rate of colorectal cancer with the stratification of sex and age, and whether it’s affected over time. Methods: The data were derived from Health Promotion Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare cancer interactive system. Colorectal cancer cases were collected from the registries during 1979 to 2013. In total 225,987 cases, 129,681 cases are colon cancers, 94,118 cases are rectal cancer and 2,179 cases are anal cancers. Results: The incidence rate of colon cancer and rectal cancer had increased in both men and women. The incidence rate of colon cancer increased 0.845 per 100,000 per year for men and 0.611 per 100,000 per year for women. The incidence rate of rectal cancer increased 0.56 per 100,000 per year for men and 0.3 per 100,000 per year for women. However, the trend of the incidence rate of the anal cancer increased 0.005 per 100,000 per year only for women. In the groups over 25 years old showed an increasing incidence rate of colon cancer for both gender. However, groups over 35 years old showed an increasing incidence rate of rectal cancer for both genders. Whereas in anal cancer, the incidence increased only in groups at age 35-39 in men, age 55-59 in women and age over 85 years old in women. Conclusion: The standardized incidence rate of colon cancer and rectal cancer had been increasing for years in both men and women. Trends in the incidence of the anal cancer in women had increased. The incidence rate of colon cancer and rectal cancer were higher in male than in female. On the other hand, the incidence rate of anal cancer in women is higher than in men. The increasing of incidence rate might be associated with the change of related factors. CHOU, YU-CHING 周雨青 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 98 zh-TW
