Lived life with resilient attitude, showed his life through his writings and sought life meanings and the beauty of life by creative writing. This study attempts to explore how the author, through life experiences and observations, seeks the meaning of life. Also included analysis of how the author, through influences from and interactions between the land, people, nature, ages, time and himself, expressed unique view point and his writing journey. This study is divided into six chapters: First chapter is introduction, included description and explanation of the purpose of motivation of this study, topics covered and techniques Second chapter covered the author's life, by using author’s works to understand his life experiences and writing concept and view. The next chapter focuses on feelings and realization, between the author and the land and people, explored how the author has care and feelings for life through past experiences. Fourth chapter is observation with the experience of living in nature, how was his unique insider views showed his writing. Fifth chapter centers on author’s journey of self-reflection and find the true meaning of life. Last chapter is the summary of how Chen Lie’s works showed the life, emotional accomplishment and creative style, and concludes why Chen Lie is a very unique and special writer. Finally, the study showed Chen Lie’s literature centers around nature, people, and spirit, especially care and love for nature, people and life, let his work have aesthetic appeal and demonstrate his writing is very unique in modern literature world.
