Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 科學教育暨環境教育研究所 === 105 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the “heat and specific heat” data modeling ability among different achievers of junior-high school students. The participants were 82 ninth grade students from three classes of a large-scale junior-high school in Kaohsiung city. A survey study was conducted by dividing the participants into three groups: high, medium and low achievers according to their academic achievement. Students were provided with a self-developed heat and specific heat data modeling software, to pracitice heat and specific heat data modeling. Then, another self-developed heat and specific heat data modeling test was used to measure student data modeling ability and performance of seven sub-abilities (posing targeted questions, generating and selecting variables, data selection, organizing data model, interpreting data model, integrating data model , and applying data model). The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, one-way ANCOVA, one-way ANOVA and multiple post-hoc comparison. The results show that: 1.Students with higher learning achievement have better data modeling ability than their counterparts (p<.05), but there is no significant difference between middle and low learning achievement groups (p>.05). 2.The students of the high achieving group are proficient in the ability of data modeling while performing poorly on the abilities of data modeling, posing targeted questions, and data selection (p<.05). 3.The students of the middle achieving group are proficient in organizing data model and applying data model as other data modeling abilities are only qualified. However, there is no significant difference among these data modeling abilities (p>.05). 4.The students of the low achieving group are weak in data modeling ability among with their seven sub-abilities. However, there was no significant difference among the data modeling and the seven sub-abilities (p>.05).
