The promotion of national policies relies on the execution of public servants; therefore, it is of great importance to pay attention on how to promote employees’ organizational identification, dedication and retention, in order to enhance administrative performance. The main purpose of this study is to explore the influence of leadership styles on employees’ intention to stay. In addition, past studies have confirmed that positive work attitudes will also affect employees’ intention to stay. Hence this study also explores the impact of work attitude on intention to stay, and further analyze the role of work attitude in the relationship between leadership style and intention to stay. This study adopts a survey methodology. The subjects includes formal administrative staffs from the administrative departments and schools in the Kaohsiung municipal. A total of valid responses were 278, yielding a response rate of 97.54%. SPSS 22.0 was used to perform reliability test, descriptive analysis, correlation and hierarchical regression. The results of this study are as follows: 1.Leadership style has a significant positive impact on intention to stay, and “transformational leadership” is stronger than “transactional leadership”. 2.Work attitude has a significant positive impact on intentions to stay. 3.Work attitude has no significant moderation effects between leadership style and intention to stay. Finally, conclusions and future suggestions were proposed based on the results of this study. The findings of this study is expected to provide insights for leaders in the administrative departments, by cultivating a positive work attitude, internalizing staffs’ beliefs and values, creating a pleasant work atmosphere can increase intention to stay, as well as improve administrative efficiency.
