The meditation model that Xu-Jing would moderate the relationship between personality and subjective well-being was investigated. 375 volunteers in Taiwan were recruited by using the convenience sampling and snowball sampling (Mean age = 25.49, SD = 7.89). The participants were asked to complete the XJI, Eysenck Personality Questionnaire, and the Chinese Happiness Inventory. The major findings of this study were as follows. 1.The XJI has good reliability and validity. The XJI has three subscales: “Zi Shi Xiao Yao” (unfettered and at ease, 自適逍遙) subscale, “Shao Si Shou Yi” (less thinking and preserving the One, 少思守一) subscale, and “Qian Xia Bu Zheng” (modesty and no vying, 謙下不爭) subscale. The Cronbach’s coefficient alpha for the entire scale was .70. The results indicated the XJI has good model-data fit, along with good reliability and construction validity. 2.The results showed gender difference were a significant difference in the scores of the XJI’s subscales of the the “Zi Shi Xiao Yao”. Females had significantly higher scores in the subscale of the “Zi Shi Xiao Yao” than males did. 3.Participants who believed in religions had significantly higher scores in the subscale of the “Zi Shi Xiao Yao” than atheists did. 4.Extraversion personality had significantly positive relationships with the XJI and its subscales of the “Zi Shi Xiao Yao” and “Qian Xia Bu Zheng”. Neuroticism personality had significantly negative relationships with the XJI and its subscales of the “Zi Shi Xiao Yao” and “less thinking and preserving the One”. 5.The results supported that there were significantly positive relationships between well-being and XJI. 6.The results supported that Xu-Jing partially mediated the relation between personality and subjective well-being. Based on the findings of this research, discussion, implications for counseling and suggestions future research were provided. SHIAH,YUNG-JONG 夏允中 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 124 zh-TW |
