Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東大學 === 體育學系碩士班 === 105 === This study is to probe the connotation, modern development, and the motives of participation and the cultural identity of Liu Dwe Hakka Traditional Sports in Gongpaocheng. Methods used:The objectives are year 2016 Liu Dwe blessing activities participants in Gongpaocheng. The purpose is to study the participation motivation and the cultural identity of the participants (n=377) in this survey. The study data is to be analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent sample t test, one-way ANOVA, Tukey’s Test method, and Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient statistics methods. Study Ananlysis:(一) Motivation in Participation:1. Ages under 12 show a greater self fulfilling achievement in participating in such activities comparing to ages range from 23 to 30. 2. Government employees show a low motivation in such activities comparing to those employed in other professions. 3. Those who have gained master degrees show a low motivation in participating in such activities comparing to other education degree groups regardless self fulfilling needs and peer suggestions or encouragement. 4. When such activities become more generalized and provide cash rewards, the participation motivation will increase. (二) Cultural Identity:1. Married participants show a greater cultural identity recognition. 2. Master degree participants show a lower cultural identity recognition comparing to other education degree participants. 3. Participants who have engaged in such activities for five times, their cultural identity recognition is higher. (三) The motivation in participation and the cultural identity show a positive correlation. Conclusion:When the Liu Dwe Hakka Traditional Sports in Gongpaocheng is generalized, the cultural identity recognition is higher, same as the motivation in participation, and vice versa. Suggestions:The study results strongly suggest the need to continue such activities with the support of the government sectors. The government sectors should provide high quality programs to meet lower age group needs. In addition, the government sectors should train and educate specialists in these sporting activities. The government should also provide full assistance in future Liu Dwe Hakka Traditional Sports in Gongpaocheng and to enhance its Hakka tradition.
