Questionnaires of “Recreational Sports Participation Scale,” “Job Stress Scale” and “Life Satisfaction Scale” are distributed to the 594 specail education teachers in 38 districts of Kaohsiung City to collect the data which was analyzed with descriptive statistics, analysis of variance(ANOVA), Pearsonʹs product moment correlation and multiple stepwise regression analysis. The results are as following: 1. Regarding the job stress of special education teachers with different background variables and recreational sports participation, teachers with different marriage status, teaching years and school size have a significant difference on “Workload,” and different teachers of different classes have a significant difference on “Student Behavior.” 2. Regarding the life satisfaction of special education teachers with different background variables and recreational sports participation, teachers with different marriage status and different duration of recreational sportshave a significant difference on “Life Satisfaction,” and those with different marriage status and school size havea significant difference on “Life Delight,” and those with different gender, age, recreational sport frequency and duration have a significant difference on “Leisure Entertainment,” and those with different gender, marriage status, class and school size have a significant difference on “Job Achievement.” 3. There is a low negative correlation between the job stress and life satisfaction of elementary special education teachers, and there is a low negative correlation between the school administration, workload, student behavior and interpersonal relation of job stress and the life delight and work achievement of life satisfaction. 4. The school administration has a predictive power toward the life satisfaction, life delight and work achievement of elementary special education teachers.
