Summary:碩士 === 國立清華大學 === 社會學習領域教師碩士在職專班 === 105 === This study investigated the relationship between personality traits and positive discipline effectiveness among elementary school teachers in Miaoli County.The study also analyzes the difference between personality traits and positive discipline in elementary school teachers under the different background variables via questionnaire surver.The research subjects were selected from elementary school teachers in Miaoli County. A survey using questionnaire of the relationship between personality traits and positive discipline among elementary school teachers in Miaoli County was administered to elementary school teachers in Miaoli County.Their responses were quantitatively analyzed using teachers’background variables,personality traits,and positive discipline as tools.These subjects,305 valid questionnaire responses were obtained.The recovered questionnaires underwent statistical analysis using SPSS for Windows 14.0.The main findings were as follows: 1.Among the dimensions of personality,the elementary school teachers in Miaoli County had the highest average score in agreeableness, followed by conscientiousness , and the lowest in neuroticism. 2. The elementary school teachers in Miaoli County have good capability of Positive Discipline, espacilly in “Discipline Method” , followed by “Positive support atmosphere”and the lowest in Stable emotional management. 3.The teachers’perception of their personality traits did not significantly differ by age,length of service, and school size. 4.The teachers’perception of their personality traits differed significantly by gender,highest education,and position. 5. The teachers’perception of their positive discipline did not significantly differ by gender,age,and length of service. 6. The teachers’perception of their positive discipline differed significantly by highest education,position,and school size. 7.Simultaneous multiple stepwise regression analysis indicates that the elementary school teachers’ personality traits has ample explanation to teachers’ positive discipline in Miaoli County. 8.Teachers with higher agreeableness exhibited higher positive discipline . neuroticism had negative effects on teachers’positive discipline .
