Summary: | 碩士 === 國立清華大學 === 科技管理研究所 === 105 === In Taiwan, every 1.7 people own a scooter averagely, which also makes Taiwan the highest scooter density country of the world. Although the mobility and convenience of scooter provide perfect solution to transportation, the external cost is causing serious problems. During 20th century, Taiwan government had already noticed the environmental pollution issues. They came up with lots of subsidiary strategies instead of planning an integrated electric scooter policy to increase the sales volume of electric scooter. Not surprisingly, it turned out a disappointed result which electric scooter only sold less than 30,000 during 2009 ~ 2013.
According to the government policy, industrial environment and sales volume in the past, thesis finds out the key success factors of electric scooter industry are scooter capability, energy cost, price, service site and additional value. With these factors, thesis continue analyzing the electric scooter industry, supply chain and government policy nowadays to understand the current development, international position and future planning about electric scooter industry in Taiwan. Thesis also provides a case study of Gogoro which is the leader company in electric scooter industry. Through the one year working experience and employee interview in Gogoro, thesis figures out its innovative business model and deep development of complementary in value chain will lead Taiwan’s electric scooter industry in the future.
In the end, thesis concluded into three points:
1. The most important factor of electric scooter industry changes over time. Additional value us going to be the next big hit.
2. It is very important to keep communication between government and industry. Government policy and industry development must combine with each other.
3. Find and cooperate with the complementary as soon as possible.
