| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立清華大學 === 國際專業管理碩士班 === 105 === The idea of the National Innovation System has been acquired by many developed countries as a tool for sustain economic development. Thailand also likes other developing countries that want to boot the economic and get out from the middle-income trap, so it has applied the National Innovation System into the development plan. The aim of this research is to investigate the National Innovation System of Thailand, examine how is each actor, namely Government, Academic and Firms conducting and interaction to each other by apply the Triple Helix Model.
The study found that the National Innovation System of Thailand is carried forward by the government by specifically lunched the Science, Technology and Innovation Plan (2012-2021), pubic research institutes and regional science park. The academic sector is focus on teaching rather than on research and technology transfer. The private firm is focus more on product design, marketing and production improvement rather than product innovation.
This research included a case study of Taiwanese firm in Thailand as a private firm in the National Innovation System. Cal-Comp Electronics (Thailand) PCL entered to Thailand due to the pressure from cost and customer. It utilized “in-house model” to gain the efficient in supply chain management and cost leadership. The firm also cooperated with the National Electronics and Computer Technology Centre (NECTEC) on product and production innovation. Besides that, cooperate with engineer leading university by provide scholarship, laboratory and internship program.
