Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 音樂學系碩士班 === 105 === Philip Alan Spark is the international famous wind music composer and arranger. In the contemporary wind band music works, and his compositions are performed frequently. So far, Philip Sparke published five hundred twenty-nine pieces, which contains thirteen concertos. These concertos are written for oboe, clarinet, flute, alto saxophone, trumpet and euphonium. Each of these concertos can fully demonstrate the skills and the musicality of the solo instruments and even the flute is no exception. This study focuses on《A Lindisfarne Rhapsody》, exploring its background, contents and interpretations. This research contains six chapters. The first three chapters include the introduction, the background, life history and stylistic characteristics of Philip Sparke. The fourth chapter provides the analysis of this composition in detail, exploring the musical form, the melody, the harmony and the rhythm, among other elements. The fifth chapter makes some suggestions about the performance interpretation to the instructors and the students as references. The sixth chapter is the conclusion.
