Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 體育學系碩士班 === 105 === In the history of the Taiwan table tennis sport development, the women's national team had many great achievements in the Asian Championships, Asian Games, World Championships and the Olympic Games. However, it’s a pity that there are not much research on it. It makes me motivate to do this study. The purpose of this research is to discuss the Competitive Sports development of Taiwan Women's Table Tennis. According to the achievements of the competitions, the researcher not only collects the development process of the relative organizations and achievements, but also interviews some influential athletes in the past. Then we divided it into four period: the beginning period (1945 ~ 1971), the silence period (1972 ~ 1982), the revival period (1983 ~ 2000), and the current development period (2001 ~ 2012). The research result reveals that: (1) Besides government planning, The corporate sponsorship is an important feature in the cultivation of table tennis players. Enterprises provide scholarships, training resources, and working opportunities. RSEA, Taipower, Weichuan, Acer, and First Bank had used to participate. However, only TCB Bank and Cathay Bank are still remaining. (2) In domestic events, the outstanding female players had used to dominate achievements in the national individual championship. Some of outstanding players may even be the representative player in the national team up to 10 years. In international games, players had good ranking in the early period, but forced to be absent in the middle period due to complicated international diplomatic situations. After 1990, transfer players from Mainland China had won Asian Games and Olympic Games medals for our nation. Later, local Taiwanese players had only won the Asian Games bronze medal. (3) Most of Taiwanese female table tennis players had sport-related family background in their early stage. In their middle stage, they devoted to table tennis with the perseverance and also the enthusiasm of their instructors. Moreover, the systematic training from school team contributed to their current achievements. The trend of strategies for table tennis transferred from traditional penhold grip to modern handshake grip. In addition, the styles had also evolved from the flat hit and spin stroke to being close to the table for fast swing with powerful loop on both sides.
