The main purpose of the research is to discuss that using digital game-based learning is an effective teaching strategy for the students in social studies of the upper grades in elementary school. In order to obtain much pleasure during the learning in the classes of social studies, the research uses a set of computer games which is based on teaching. It can increase the willing and the motivation of the learners to participate the classes, and improve the learning performance. We use the quantization of pre-test, post-test and deferred test to analyze the experienced data of the tested students. After analyze the results of pre-test, post-test and deferred test, it is found that the learning outcome of the tested students is promoted positively. It means that the tested students still remember most of the knowledge of social studies for a long time. It is proved that it can help students transform the knowledge of history into long-term memory by the games. The results of the experience indicate that this way improves effectively the learning outcome of the students. It is showed that game-based learning has an obvious influence for the learning outcome of the students. However, the researchers operate the whole procedure after a year; it is found that the influence of the learning outcome is small if we don’t update the game. Except for the quantitative analysis, the researchers also use interview contents as qualitative analysis. It is showed that different personality will have different learning outcome.
