Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 設計學系 === 105 === The macro social development in Taiwan poses a considerable challenge to school education. Under the influence of the declining birth rate and existent education systems, schools are faced with the threat of abolishment. Innovative value thus becomes important in contemporary education. Educational institutions endeavor to manifest their characteristics and advantages in order to demonstrate positive image of the school and enhance their competitiveness in the educational realm. This innovative study focuses on the design and promotion of school image and uses applications of international design thinking trends that successfully lead development in various fields as the emphasis and research methods of this study. The methods are integrated into design curricula, in which students are guided with group discussion and creation sessions based on innovative education approaches to develop feasible projects that promote school image. As a teacher of Taipei Municipal Neihu Vocational High School, the author conducts the current innovative study using the affiliated school as the subject. The research results are expected to achieve the goal of improving students’ thinking abilities , uncover the core spirits of the school, and attain sustainability. The objectives of this study are as follows: (a) understand the trends and applications of contemporary innovative design thinking that is internationally popular, as well as their relationship with education; (b) implement courses to guide students to use design thinking to discuss problems and determine solutions; (c) perform integrated creation to display a valuable, concrete, and systematic contextual design of creation; and (d) inspire more scholars using the research results to investigate related education topics. In this study, the literature regarding school image and design thinking is reviewed; subsequently, a benchmark case under the Ministry of Education Program of National Secondary and Elementary Characteristic Schools and cases relevant to the W orld Design Capital Taipei Grounding Program in Design Education are analyzed to plan a series of fine arts courses for hands-on practice. The students’ creative works regarding school image reform under design thinking guidance are compiled and organized to ultimately determine the crucial elements of design. The results reveal the focal characteristics of the case school that help formulate the school’s excellent and salient image to assist in achieving the school’s vision.
