碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 音樂學系碩士班 === 105 === The purpose of this research is to make a comprehensive analysis and practice of Schumann’s Violin Sonata No.2 in d minor, Op.121. Hopefully this study can be helpful to make us increasingly Robert Schumann and his Violin Sonata. This study includes five chapters: The first chapter is divided into three sections: the motivation of the study, scope of the study, the research methods. The second chapter introduces Schumann’s life and evolution of the Schumann Violin Sonata, and the background of Schumann Violin Sonata No.2, Op.121. The third chapter discusses the compositional characteristic and the performance practice. The fourth chapter explores the interpretation, focusing on bowing and change of the tone color. The last chapter is the conclusion.
