A Study of Parents’ Attitude and Needs on the Preschool Dietary Education in Taoyuan City

碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 教育經營與管理學系 === 105 === This study aims to understand the public preschool parents’ attitude and needs for dietary education, and analyze the differences from the parents with diverse-background in Taoyuan City. Results are concluded base on foundings and suggestions are proposed to preschool teachers, parents, administration and future research as follows. The questionnaire survey method was used and the subjects were public preschool parents, located on 13 districts of Taoyuan City in 2016. Descriptive ststistics and one-way ANOVA were used for data analysis. Nine research findings were proposed according to the results as follows: 1. Parents tend to more emphasize on the content awareness of preschool dietary education, showing higher expectation and needs of preschool dietary education knowledge and behavior. 2. Parents’ comprehension of dietary education shows some inconsistency to the reasons of selecting preschools. 3. Parents have relatively low agreement on preschool teachers’ efforts on dietary education. It shows preschool teachers have to make parents understand the related content through appropriate ways or means of communication. 4. Parents expect children to have better knowledge and performance in dietary education, but take little attention on the experience of dietary education, this is against the idea of learning by doing. 5. Parents tend to pay more attention on physical facilities, but paying little attention on the development of children’s positive attitude toward dietary. 6. The reasons why the parents have expectation on preschool dietary education but have passive participation need to be discussed. 7. Parents’ getting too much involved in children’s dietary education. It shows that the development of children dietary attitude needs to be emphasized. 8. Parents’ attitude and needs toward preschool’s dietary education is related to many factors such as their educational background, occupations and economic levels. 9. Different numbers of children will affect parents’ attitude and needs toward preschool’s dietary education. Eleven recommondations were presented with the point of views of preschool teachers, parents, administratiors, and researchers according to the above conclusions.
