Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 課程與教學研究所 === 105 === This study aims to explore the application of collaborative learning in mathematics learning of fourth graders, and it’s influence on students’ math problems solving. The study adopted an action research method. The participants of this study were twenty-seven fourth graders in an elementary school in Taipei. The data were collected through classroom observations, teacher reflection documents, students’ questionnaires, student’ interviews, student’ homework and feedback. The findings of this study included: (1) The collaborative learning was established through the teaching and learning among the teacher and students, which could stimulate students’ divergent thinking by asking questions and listening to each other. The teacher then connected student learning and dialogues in the classroom, based on the text. (2) The collaborative learning could help students’ multiple thinking, and problem solving. Students showed a variety of problem solving strategies to achieve the extended jump in the collaborative learning. It’s also improved students’ self-confidence and motivation in learning mathematics. (3) Students liked to learn the application of collaborative learning in class , and considered it to be helpful in learning mathematics. (4) The time constraint was the most problem in implementing collaborative learning. Teachers need to create a suitable and safe environment for discussion and adjust the content of teaching activities in order to make learning successful. Finally, conclusions and recommendations were provided for educators and researchers.
