碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 犯罪學研究所 === 105 === The purpose of this study is to find out if teenagers are triggered the fear of been killed and change the feel of public security after watching two different broadcasting techniques of television news. Take “The murder at Emei Car Park in Ximending, Taiepi”, “A graduate of NTU—murderer of ex-girlfriend”, “The murder of abusive relationship”, “A man in Taipei’s Beitou Distrct murdering his children” , “Hsinchu teen sexually assaulted, beaten to death in park” as cases, separating third graders in junior high into control group and treatment group to see the outcomes of their changes of the fear of been killed and the feel of public security before and after they watch various media reports. The two groups show no differences on gender, the average numbers of watching TV news, and the mass media they use to acquire information. The analysis of pretest shows no obvious effect upon the change of their fear of been killed and feel of public security; however, for the analysis of posttest has higher scores. This study reveals that the audience would not be frightened by sensational news, the analysis for the changes of the fear of being killed and the feel of public security shows no obvious effect although the posttest has higher score than the pretest. The audience’s media Preferences, the immunity against reports of crimes, or the false design and operation of this study could be factors of improving for the future study.
