Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 社會工作學系 === 105 === Case managers of suicide prevention received psychology, nursing, or social work degree in Taiwan, but there isn’t any standard of core competencies. The purpose of research was to explore the core competencies of suicide prevention case managers, and to provide the suggestion for their orientation training and on-the-job training. This research used in-depth interview method to collect 10 practical workers. The result of this research was divided into three sections. Firstly, there are 4 types of core competencies of suicide prevention case managers, including knowledge, skills, attitudes, and ethics. The ability of knowledge includes knowledge of population, social resource, and suicide prevention. The ability of skills includes the ability of culture, evaluation, reflective, intervention, and self-care. The ability of attitude includes working attitude and value. The ability of ethics includes relationship boundary and ethics. The second section is present training ways for suicide prevention case managers. The third section is about the difference between the educational background of suicide prevention case managers and their competencies. Due to their different professional education, the practitioners have different focus, goals, service models, and interventions. Lastly, there are three suggestions: 1. build the national core competencies of suicide prevention case managers in Taiwan. 2. Design the training of suicide prevention case managers based on core competencies. 3. Add related courses about suicide prevention case managers in related departments of university. 4. Draft ethic codes of suicide prevention case managers. 4. Strengthen those weak core competencies.
