碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 多媒體動畫藝術學系新媒體藝術碩士班 === 105 === “Veggie Hero” is a mobile APP. This App is designed to spread the idea of eating more vegetables and less meat. It also aims to enhance users’ health management. By keeping the track of the food, this APP tires to help users not only watch their health, but also protect the global warming from the greenhouse-gas emission. To achieve this goal, the livestock production must be reduced. By developingthe habit of keeping the track of the food, users may eat more vegetable and less meat, further pay more attention to the global warming issue. In literature review, four Apps about health management and habit development are studied for reference. The art design takes livestock as role models. These livestock virtual animals are the characters for the “Veggie Hero”. If players keep the track of their daily diet, they may collect those animals and later send them to their belonging Utopia. Adobe Illustrator has been used for graphic design, while Cordova used for programming. Smart phone with camera function is the main hardware equipment of this creation. The characteristic of “Veggie Hero” is that users need to track their diet by taking pictures of their daily meals. The purpose of this design is to avoid cheating while playing the game. Also, the social group design of “Veggie Hero” builds a better scenario for players to get together and encourage each other. Through interactive game, this Mobile APP “Veggie Hero” not only helps players develop the habit for health management, but also improves players’ knowledge of the environmental protection.
