| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 美術學系版畫藝術碩士班 === 105 === This research thesis is named after two series of my artworks “Land of Life, Sea of Death”.
The content of my creations is based on the life around me. From the viewpoint of my own living experience in Taiwan, I conceive of my artworks and think about the local characteristics of Taiwan. I tried to look for the cultural heritage and natural resources of Taiwan which is the main point of my two series works by means of area study of different places, data collection and study of Taiwanese history.
Art Deco is the main topic of the part of academic research in this thesis. I also researched the component of decorative patterns in the works of William Morris (1834 -1896)and took them as the reference toward my works. Otherwise, I try to explain the meaning of symbols used in Art Deco works further with semiology and semantics. On the part of my artworks, I made them with screen printing and painting. I also did research on the history of screen printing and analyzed the texture and visual effects of it. In addition to discussing my artworks, I specially present my comments on the Education of Art in Taiwan and explain the phenomenon what I observed and my hope to the Education of Art.
Going through with the stages of study and skills training, I have shaped my artworks at the present stage. The processes are so inspiring that make me think about lots of thing on the road of artistic creation and try various ways to make my artworks; Not only the skills of screen printing but also the content of my creations are improved much than before. Furthermore, I also have new ideas and I try to make the artworks which is different from the traditional printmaking with the conception of printing.
