Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 資訊管理系 === 105 === The trend of financial technology (FinTech) I eliciting much attention from the government and the media in Taiwan. However, the financial industry focuses more on the benefits and convenience provided by the technology than on the significant effect that the technology may bring to management and employment. The combination of financial service and technological innovation has resulted in “ubiquinomics,” in which people can access banking services whenever and wherever they require via mobile devices and the Internet. Despite its advantages, FinTech poses threats to large traditional banking corporations that are reluctant to adopt new technologies and adjust their services. This study reviews the evolution of FinTech, with an in-depth discussion on its revolutionary innovations and challenging effects on financial services on a global scale. The developmental changes in traditional financial corporations and attitudes of consumers toward new services are discussed. This study also explores how the local branch offices of traditional financial corporations in Taiwan can survive the challenges that accompany innovations in digital platforms and services.
