Proper knowledge exchange activities in the supply chain are essential, as the flow of knowledge plays an important role involved in a rapidly evolving and complex environment in order for the company to innovate and survive. By building a confessional study, we suggest that strong and close interfirm relationships enable companies to achieve better service innovation through exchanging and sharing information and knowledge with corporate partners. Quantitative methodologies were used in this study to explore frameworks in structural and individual perspectives. Data samples were collected from manufacturing companies in Indonesia. Smart PLS 3.2 is used to analyze the construct and hypothesis of the research. Furthermore, the results show that well-established relationships between firms will impact on sufficient quantities of some types of knowledge flows that can be used as a provision to build innovative ideas in the services sector. In conclusion, this study is a new model that can illustrate the close relationship between firms and their impact on information and knowledge flows in the supply chain as a tool to enhance organizational performance, especially in service innovation.
