Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 機械工程系 === 105 === The design of runners and gates in plastic molds is traditionally driven by designer experiences. The typical design approach is drawing runners and gates in a 2D or 3D CAD environment. However, this approach often causes designers to spend a lot of time on drawing, hence unable to fully demonstrate their experiences in mold design. This thesis describes how an attempt was made to develop a ‘runner/gate design system’ using NXOpen, the application programming interface provided by the 3D CAD/CAM software NX from Siemens, for mold designers to rapidly design runners and gates, cut out cavity areas required for runners/gates, and create solid models for runners/gates. In addition, the system could enable rapid design changes based on user needs, thereby significantly reducing mold development time.
