A Study on Retirement Needs and Satisfaction of Retired Teachers of National Primary School in Changhua Country

碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 教育研究所 === 105 === A qualitative method was adopted in the current study, with 13 retired teachers in Changhua County interviewed to examine retirement needs and needs satisfaction of retired teachers. The results were as follows: 1.General living conditions of retired teachers included exercising, having leisure activities, travelling, improving living surroundings, having attitudinal changes in consumption, families, friends, learning, voluntary services, and religious events. 2.Retirement needs could be divided into eight types, including health and leisure, living safety, financial arrangement, family relationship, social relationship, learning, voluntary service, and religion. Among these types, each interviewee had expressed their urgent needs in heath and leisure, family relationship, social relationship, and learning. 3.The need in social relationship topped the rank in needs satisfaction, followed by financial arrangement. The need in employment held the lowest position, followed by the need in religion. 4.Suggestions for teachers planning retirement included activity participation to maintain relationship with other teachers, active maintenance of social interaction, cultivation of interests and living objectives, and advanced retirement arrangement. Based on the above conclusions, the study provides suggestions for future teachers, relevant organizations, and future research.
