It was around 35 years ago that it started to attract attention from reporters and photographers, this gave the event wide-spread media exposure, eventually the town at which the event is held every year became a well-known tourist attraction in Taiwan; Beehive rockets also became what the district of Yanshui is known for. After that, the Beehive Rockets Festival, also known as The Yanshuei Fireworks Festival kept gaining popularity, attracting large number of tourists every year.
