碩士 === 大仁科技大學 === 休閒事業管理研究所 === 105 === This research aims to obtain further insight into the current condition of motives and social support relations for participation leisure activities of junior high school students in Neipu, Pingtung. Difference in various background variables are compared, and relevant situation of social support toward participation motives ware investigated. The research subjects ware junior high school students in Neipu, Pingtung; the research tool is a questionnaire, which is a modification from those made by researchers in related topics. The name of the questionnaire was “Scale of Motives and Social Support for Participation of Leisure Activities of Junior High School Students in Neipu, Pingtung.” Thequestionnaire adopts systematic sampling, and 352 questionnaires was given out, among which 331 are returned, with a return rate of 94.03%. After eliminating invalid questionnaires, there was 320 valid questionnaires, with a valid return rate of 96.67%.The data was achieved and analyzed by SPSS for Windows 12.0 statistics software; the methods for analyzing the data was descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation, etc. It is hoped that the conclusion from this research will be able to serve as a reference for parents who are arranging family leisure activities, teachers who are compiling teaching plans for relevant subjects, school administrators who are setting up sports facilities, and government agencies related to education which are planning relevant policies. The analyses from the research are as follows: 1. In terms of the dimensions of statistics for motives for participating inleisure activities of junior high school students in Neipu, Pingtung, health need is the highest, social need second, psychological need third, and achievement need is the last. 2. For different background variables, “achievement need” and “ethnic groups” dimensions demonstrate significant difference in motives for participation of leisure activities of junior high school students in Neipu, Pingtung. 3. In terms of the dimensions of statistics for social support for participating in leisure activities of junior high school students in Neipu, Pingtung, the highest support comes from peers, then from teachers, and finally the family members. 4. Different background variables in social support of junior high school students in Neipu, Pingtung do not have significant difference in sex, grade, ethnic groups, and BMI. 5. There is a significant positive correlation between motives and social support of participating in leisure activities for junior high school students in Neipu, Pingtung.
