The present study therefore select the library of Tajen University as the object of indoor air quality study using direct-reading instruments to monitor physical parameters in air, including the temperature, relative humidity and wind speed, and chemical parameters including concentration of CO, CO2, total volatile organic compounds (TVOC) and formaldehyde. Meanwhile, the single-stage Andersen Microbial Sampler was used to collect airborne micro-organisms including fungi and bacterial. In every story of this five-story library, one collection site is selected for collecting physical and chemical parameters continuously for 9.5 hours (8:30 AM - 6:00 PM) At the same time, the outdoor air quality was also monitored for comparison. The result indicated that in terms of the environmental parameters, the temperature, wind speed and relative humidity do not vary significantly due to the use of air conditioning. On the other hand, the indoor CO2 concentration is positively related with the number of occupant in the library (r=0.75, p<0.0001), and the indoor CO2 concentration (0.6 ~ 1.4 ppm)is slightly lower than outdoor (0.9 ~ 2.1 ppm) while the average TVOC concentration indoors (113±9 ppb) is higher than outdoors (47±23 ppb). None of the concentration of formaldehyde measured at 17 areas exceed the allowed standard for indoor air quality (0.08 ppm), and the concentration of formaldehyde measured was found to increase positively with temperature (r=0.37, p<0.01). At outdoors, the concentration of fungi was found to exceed that of bacterial, to the opposite was found indoors. To sum up, the present study concludes that the indoor air quality of Tajen University Library meets the requirement of indoor air quality standards. TSENG, LI-HO 曾麗荷 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 152 zh-TW
