However, until now, relationship between Par-4 and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is still unknown. Here, via using immunohistochemistry and Western blot analysis, in contrast to lower expression and cytoplasmic distribution in normal cells and pre-cancerous lesions, higher intensity of Par-4 remarkably revealed a distinctive nuclear localization in tumor cells. Of interest, Par-4 induction elevated mitophagy mediated PINK1-Parkin dependent mitophagy pathway in OSCC cells was also manifested by TEM and immunofluorescence assays.
