A 3-constructs questionnaire(working pressure, teaching effectiveness, and frequency of sport participation) was employed in this study. Totally 325 questionnaires were collected by convenient sampling derived from those who work in after-school class in central area of Taiwan. The response rate was approximately 81.25%, and the collected data were analyzed by SPSS18.0 with respects to descriptive statistics, factorial analysis, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffe comparative method. Research results showed as followed: In terms of sport participation, nearly 70% after-school teachers in central part of Taiwan do not fulfill the basic requirement of regular excise (3 times per week/30 minutes for each), and those who do regular exercise are less stressful in their job. Further, only those who do regular exercise and exceed 90 minutes have less stress and better score in teaching effectiveness. In terms of the correlation among each variable, the level of experienced job stress is negatively correlated to teaching effectiveness, frequency of exercise, and weekly exercise time. It is evident that sport participation can help after-school teachers to release their job stress and further promote their teaching effectiveness.
