The lack of physical activities is the critical factor that leads to obesity, and making regular exercise a habit is one of the strategies to promote physical activities. College is an important time to develop the habit of regular exercise. In 1986, World Health Organization (WHO) introduced supportive environments for health, which stressed the importance of health promotion, a significant strategy to promote physical activities as well. Supportive environments for health could be divided into physical dimension and social dimension. The former is the environment that people can use directly and contact the most. It is crucial to construct a supportive environments for health that adheres to people’s need in this kind of environment. In terms of physical dimension, schools are the major and most accessible sport venue for college students. If colleges can provide a supportive environments for health that satisfies the needs of students, it will bring considerable benefits to developing the habit of regular exercise. Therefore, this study used literature review, field research, questionnaire survey, and case study to investigate college students’ evaluations on the degree of importance and satisfaction of sport venues on campus. The research subject was the students at Taipei TECH, and they responded to the questionnaires. Suggestions on improving or building a supportive environments for health on campus were further offered and served as the reference for the school. A total of 384 effective questionnaires were obtained, and the effective questionnaire return rate was 96%. After analytical analysis, the results showed the following: (1) In general, college students did not reach the standard of regular physical activities. (2) Overall, the environment of the sport venues on campus did not meet the expectations of college students. (3) In terms of the environment of the sport venues on campus, the most important dimension was security, followed by accessibility and beauty. (4) College students found equipment maintenance and the opening hours of sport venues the least satisfactory. (5) About 30% of the sport venues met the need of college students, which should be maintained. (6) The mode of arrival and distance to the sport venues, and the furnishings of the facilities and equipment in the venues did not receive significant attention in terms of improvement. (7) In terms of improvement, the school should give top priority to the opening hours, space planning, maintenance and management, warning signs, nightlights, and the diversity and maintenance of the facilities. (8) In terms of the degree of importance, college students who lived in different locations showed distinct differences in the questions of the questionnaire. (9) In terms of satisfaction, college students of different bodily positions, conditions, and exercises showed distinct differences. Lih-Yau Song 宋立垚 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 137 zh-TW
