In view of this, the government pushes the reconstruction of old buildings actively. However, how to demolish existing buildings, excavate and rebuild a deeper and taller new building without causing any damage to adjacent buildings to prevent construction hazard issues, has become a major issue to be solved during urban renewal campaign. Before a diaphragm wall can be constructed, the guide wall has to be built. However the adjacent building might be damaged during deep excavation to construct guide wall due to existing foundation on site. Therefore, this study proposes a method to construct deep guide wall for diaphragm wall on site with existing foundation, details the site investigation, the planning and design of deep guide wall, and the construction is monitored to prewarn if there is any possibility to damage adjacent building. All of the planning and design of an actual construction case are recorded in detail, the first planning and design are usually done by the design unit, and then passed on to the constractor. Then the constractor revises the design according to construction requirement and appropriateness. The numerical analysis program of RIDO is used in this study. The results from analytical models of "buttress diaphragm wall analysis model" and "cross wall equivalent stiffness simulation analysis model" are compared, and are further compared against the monitoring results.
