Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 應用英文系碩士班 === 105 === This research aims to investigate whether there are language differences between children of foreign spouses and children of native spouses on mean length utterance (MLU) and word classes. 35 preschool children at age from 4 to 6 were selected from National Taipei University of Education Experimental Kindergarten. The participants were divided into groups of 4-year-old, 5-year-old, and 6-year-old; each of the groups was further divided into 2 groups by group factor (foreign or native). They were recorded for 30 to 50 minutes during free play in the classrooms. Collected data was examined separately to distinguish the difference of the language performance and characteristics by ANOVA in SPSS Statistics. The result showed that children’s MLU had significant relationship with their age and group factor, and there were also some differences in the word class usage between each group.
