Description
Summary:碩士 === 東南科技大學 === 營建與空間設計系營建科技與防災碩士班 === 105 === To explore possible smoke blocking function for building doors when fire occurring, this study aims to develop a device to improve air-tightness of building doors utilizing a magnetic force. An air-tight wooden six-sides box was used as a space unit model with a build-in wooden door, attaching to the lower edge of the wooden door a magnetic device employing the magnet repulsion concept. The wooden door separates the smoke and non-smoke sides, smoke-detectors were installed at the tops of both sides. When smoke induced, the power on of the magnetic device determined the enhancement of air-tightness of the wooden door. Together with ventilation on the non-smoke side to create a negative pressure, five experimental conditions were examined to record waiting times for turning on the smoke detectors. After statistics analyses for the waiting times distributions, the magnetic device indeed could promote air-tightness for building doors. However, under negative pressure in the non-smoking side, controlling the air tightness of the door to prevent smoke spreading had limited effect.
