Description
Summary:碩士 === 大同大學 === 資訊工程學系(所) === 105 === According to a study published by the World Health Organization (WHO), air pollution in both cities and rural areas was estimated to have caused 3.7 million premature deaths in 2012. The primary pollutant is small airborne particulate matter of 2.5 micrometers or less in diameter, which led to the development of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. This research indicates a way to solve this problem. To improve the quality of the air everyone breathe is to let people know the quality of the air they are breathing. Also, a prototype was built based on the Internet of Things (IoT) to address this issue. It can inform users the current air quality of the cities they concerned. Several two to three hours long workshops where participants delve into the design process and working in teams to better understand the challenge of air pollution were hosted. The feedback indicates this approach is effective in terms of inducing more attention on air pollution related issues.
