Methods: Twelve healthy male participants (age: 21.4 ± 1.4 yr, height: 170.0 ± 10.0 cm, weight: 67.3 ± 13.7 kg) were recruited in this study. A randomized double-blind and crossover design was conducted in this study. After one week PL and RC supplementation (dose: 20 mg/kg BW), all participants were performed an hour 70% VO2max intensity cycling exercise. Blood collection and HRV measurement were conducted before, immediately and one hour after exercise. There was spaced 7 days apart between trials. Results: There were no significant differences in sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous activity between in PL and RC trials after exercise challenge. The neutrophil counts, lymphocyte counts, and neutrophils to lymphocytes ratio (NLR) were no significant difference between in PL and RC trials after an hour cycling exercise. Conclusions: This study indicated that RC supplementation seemly not affects the heart rate variability and inflammatory response in these young healthy participants after an hour moderate intensity cycling exercise.
