The Regional County and governments begin to promote multicultural arts, such as street art. Street artists are the main protagonists in street art. They not only offer entertainments to the public but also enrich our native culture with innovative ideas. Based on my passion in magic and popularizing street performance license, I want to discuss further into how magician manipulate different performance technique to earn judges’ recognition and audiences’ attention. The subjects of the research are five judges that were Taoyuan city street artists of performing arts, as well as the candidates that use magic performance to earn Taoyuan city street artist license including five candidates that pass the license and five that do not, total interviewing 10 candidates. Using the method of content analysis analyze the information you get and process with the procedure that set in the interview, simultaneously record under interviewees’ agreement and then analyze the information. After that it can be summarized into eight main points, they are four judge’s main points including the style of live performance, level of interacting with audiences, skill’s proficiency, and friendly environment and four performer’s main points including the motive of examining, the type of performance of examining, the interaction with audiences and the decoration of costume, music and location. The research summarizes four main points that judges focus on; including the way the live performance is carried out, level of interacting with audiences, skill’s proficiency, and friendly environment. Most judges dislike examinees using small-scale magic prop such as poker, coin, rubber band, straws unappealing since the objects are not eye- catching enough to attract judges’ and audiences’ attention. Using medium and large size prop such as pigeon, balloon, four big linking rings, conjuring up flowers, conjuring up stick, conjuring up money, Indian basket, or people floating on chair…etc. In the audition exam, the examinee can easily earn reviewer’s recognition and gather audiences attentions. However, when the examinees have outstanding creativity and innovation in doing small-scale magic, they can get favor from reviewers and audiences as well. At last, according to the analyzed result of the interview, we have summed up with a conclusion for relevant government agencies and street artist examinee’s reference; in hope that the analysis will enhance researcher’s performance.
