The cross-sectional research design was used with the convenient sampling by using structured questionnaire to interview 105 community-dwelling elder in Yilan City. Data analyses methods of independent sample t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson’s product moment correlation, and Binary logistic regression have applied in this study. The results of this study showed that the different subjects’ age and education levels have significant different levels of nutritional status (F=7.05, P<0.01, and F=4.03, P<0.05, respectively). For those subjects who were older and have less educational level were more likely to be poor nutritional status. Other significant factors related to subjects’ nutritional status were own saving (t=-3.11, P<0.01), the number of chronic diseases (t=2.38, P<0.05), and whether have diseases of osteoarthritis (t=2.31, P<0.05) and liver or not (t=2.17, P<0.05). Subjects who have less own saving, more chronic diseases, and have osteoarthritis, liver diseases were more likely poor nutrition status. The results of this study showed that subjects’ depression status and oral health status affected their nutritional status. (t=2.82,p<0.01; t=-1.60, p<0.01, respectively). Besides, depressive symptoms were significant moderator between subjects’ oral health and nutrition status (P<0.01). According to results of this study, the suggestions of decreasing elders’ depressive symptoms and promoting oral health are important in improving their nutrition status.
