Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 工業設計系 === 105 === Designers are product creators. How to give the association within different products is a critically important issue. Rather than being completely individuals, many products co-exist with other stuff like symbionts. Such as the sets of desks and chairs, cups and teapots, cell phones and desktop chargers. Even though, the issue of symbiosis of products is rarely been fully discussed. The symbiosis design explored by this study could be seen as the interaction of several product combinations. By using the methods evolved from mutual benefit of symbiosis design, the manufactures were endowed with symbiotic features. Products which came from the means of symbiosis design, obtained more advantages than the situation if those existed alone. That means, it has the so-called mutual advantage of synergy In the study of "Symbiosis Design", the application of academic sectors like biology, philosophy, architecture, design, art, etc., were been explored. The author generalized three methods and contexts of design from different perspectives: “Theme”, “Function”, and “Form”. This study presented features of Symbiosis Design by applying these design means to the products. The author obtains “the relevance of products” from the view of “Theme”, and explores the suitability of the combination of the product set. In the perspective of “Function”, the researcher/author generalized two points to present symbiotic features of design, (1) aggregation: group and community. (2) cooperation: piling, hiding, relying and proliferation. In the sector of “Form”, four points were proposed: (1) geometric blocks, (2) cutting, (3) combination of different stuff and (4) unification, which is in order to connect products and their appearance. Finally, the design methods were applied to the four experimental products and four representative products, to examine the theory of “Symbiosis Design”.
