| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 創意生活設計系 === 105 === Nowadays, sustainable design is beneficial to solve many problems, such as energy wasting and resources destruction. However, few people have the conscious to protect and save the environments; even we all feel the pollution and the extreme climate change have deteriorated drastically. The crux is the distance between people and the nature. When the distance is too far, people do not feel the urge of protecting the environments. Design can change people’s life, I can also change people’s mind. If we let people touch and feel the nature again, and let nature be a part of our lives, eco-awareness would be an action instead of a slogan. In addition, this creation <Touch the Nature>, is an experiment of blending the nature and the civilization.
In order to achieve the idea, the creation started by the study of related books to have a deeper understanding of current technology and development of sustainable design. Moreover, international and domestic design pieces with the related ideas are analyzed. Concluded with 4 design methods: <Combine with other material>, <Natural material as the main structure>, <Skin cover>, and <Capture the texture>. Based on these design methods, the creations were produced: <stool of leaves>, <branches lighting>, <dog tail grass vase & garlic skin vase>, and <maple leaf pocket>.
A lot of idea exchange has done with many people during the process of the creation. It has proved that the idea of the creations can really evoke people. In addition, the advice gave me the view to the further creations of the idea. The creation, <Touch of Nature> is only the beginning. I hope that there would be more Taiwanese designers use natural materials to create, even invent or develop new eco-friendly materials in the future
