The aim of this study was to study the effects of using insulin on blood sugar control for those patients with different levels of coma in intensive care Unit (ICU). Data were collected from 191 patients hospitalized in ICU under care of physicians specialized in metabolism or diabetes from 2005 to 2009. In total, 758 consecutive two-day blood sugar curves (BSCs) were collected. the result of Hierarchical clustering and using the relevant distance matrix showed that the BSCs of the patients with comparatively high coma indexes exhibited more regularity than those of the patients with lesser coma indexes, and that the former also exhibited better blood sugar control than the latter in term of the stability of BSCs. Finally, using genetic algorithms look for Lotka-Volterra model and simulating blood glucose changes, which has a 23% best simulation curve. Chen,Jong-Chen 陳重臣 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 53 zh-TW
