Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 化學工程與材料工程系 === 105 === In this study the selective catalytic oxidation of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in the industry at room temperature was investigated. Unlike chemical washing and adsorption techniques, which require supplement of chemicals and waste disposal, the selective catalytic oxidation method can effectively oxidize H2S to S and simplify the system operation. The Ce-Fe over activated carbon (AC) was prepared by impregnation method. The optimal compositions of Ce and Fe for the H2S removal were analyzed by the activity test. Ce-Fe/AC catalysts showed superior activity compared to Fe/AC catalysts. The H2S removal could reach to 899 mg H2S / g catalyst for the Ce-Fe/AC catalysts. The experimental results indicated that the enhancement is attributed to the incorporation of Ce, which facilitates the catalytic mechanism of Fe, resulting in high efficiency of H2S removal. According to the XRD analysis, the Fe over AC was of γ-Fe2O3. Under the conditions of 10% O2 and relative humidity of 60%, the 5wt%Ce-20wt%Fe/AC catalyst showed the best activity.
