Description
Summary:碩士 === 元智大學 === 資訊工程學系 === 105 === Peer-to-peer (P2P), the most important architecture in the internet, lead the data transport system into a new level, but also causing the creation of enormous traffic by its own strategy. The Ethernet passive optical network (EPON) is being regarded as one of the promising for next-generation optical access solutions in the access networks attempt to provide the higher bandwidth. In this paper, enhanced EPON architecture to manage Gnuttella P2P traffic and enable traffic localization to reduce inter and intra traffic in the EPON and ISPs. The “P2P-DBA” for P2P bandwidth allocation scheme, which can support intra-PON traffic redirection. The optical network unit (ONU) and optical line terminal (OLT) are enhanced to able handling Gnutella based p2p traffic by intra traffic redirection. P2P firmware is proposed to processes p2p packets. Our simulation results have shown that our proposed architecture can improve the end-to-end delay of P2P traffic nearly 90% reduction and still maintain the QoS of higher priority services.
